Martin Tyler leaving Sky Sports. Another one bites the dust.
Real shame. I think he’s probably the best commentator still out there, even at age 77.

Hopefully it was his decision to go. BBC could do with someone who isn’t awful so perhaps he could do some work for them.

Could have done us all a favour and give Neville and Carragher the axe while they were at it.

Fraser it's a cost cutting exercise..They are axing some big names to reduce the wage bill. His replacement will.therefore be a cheaper option..

"Early life
Drury was born on 24 September 1967 in England.[1] His father was a Church of England vicar based in Kent. The first club he supported as a four-year-old was West Ham United, but he has since gone on to support different clubs, most notably Watford as he now lives in Hertfordshire"

Isn't this just the media re-aligning itself with it's current/new audience?

Just another reminder that we all grow old and die (i.e. stop buying the shit they advertise).

Peter Dreary. Boring cunt. Footballs better with the commentary off if you can't go for whatever reason

Peter Drury joining Sky, so not a woke replacement at all.

The voice of corporate football replaced by the voice of Manchester United. Mute button at the ready.

Despite being with Sky for donkeys, I still associate his voice with midweek sports special on itv doing littlewoods cup and fa cup replays on a Wednesday night.

At his age I wouldn't blame him for hanging up his mic.

Cough... if you played sport it will have happened probably more than one occasion... and of course you have the life long team mates prank of rubbing said white horse oils/deep heat on team members sport pants/Jockstrap... always good fun that

The women’s game itself is really hard to listen to, cricket is even worse with the screeching.

They just try to copy the men’s game but at a higher pitch.

Its the TIMBRE of the female voice especially in moments of drama that grates.
Have to close the window when watching an exciting game as every dog in the neighbourhood starts YELPING

As for pundits once Sky start using League 2 footballers (who may be articulate and intelligent) as pundits they can justify using women who have played at a level several leagues below even THAT.

or rubbing deep heat into your tea towel holder

I see you tried it then?

It does have it annoyance…. watched the trooping of the colour yesterday, and when it got to the gun salute they had a woman letting them know when to fire……it was fucking shit.

What Gooseman said.... it's on par with clawing your fingernails down a blackboard... or rubbing deep heat into your tea towel holder.... or stapling your Alberts to a moving Wildebeast.... well... you get my drift...

I just can’t stand women’s commentary. Something about the tone.

I continue to turn the sound off if it's a soppy bird on there doing the commentary, had that lanky bird after the Malta game talking about a player called Forden, what the fuck are these people watching ?

Re: Martin Tyler leaving Sky Sports. Another one bites the dust.
Probably past it but he is one of the best to ever do it. Him & Andy Gray arguably the best commentary team of all time. McCoist is a good co-commentator but don’t think he’d be much good as the main man. Sky will no doubt replace him with some tart.

Never liked him. Chatters non stop throughout the game. Just comment on the action.

Old school but Brian Moore was the all time best commentator for me.

Past his sell by date
Agree that that AND ITS LIIIIIIVE should have been binned years ago.

Sky could ban Carragher & Neville from commentating on Liverpool & Man Utd while they are at it.
Send them to Luton v Burnley

Bianca Westwood also dropped.
Only one woman left on the team apparently.
